This course provides students with an intensive introduction to core business disciplines, addressing a wide range of topics including design thinking, organizational psychology, product management, and more. Students will apply their newly acquired business knowledge to a range of research assignments and creative projects similar to those seen in undergraduate and graduate-level business courses. Through a mix of case study research, simulations, group projects, and field trips to local companies, students will gain the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to navigate the business world.
This course has two sections; both are offered in Session One and again in Session Two. One section will teach business fundamentals with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, exploring how to create, manage, and grow a company. The other section will specialize in investment topics, introducing students to stock portfolios and training them in skills in basic accounting and spreadsheets.
