Although the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes are centered on academics, the daily program includes a variety of recreational activities in the afternoon hours. These activities are intended to provide students with fresh air, exercise, and social stimulation. Activities are designed for a variety of participant interests with everything from arts and crafts to sports and local excursions. Some of the more popular afternoon and evening activities include:

  • Rubik’s Cube workshops
  • Theater and improv workshops

  • A Cappella singing
  • Shopping at the Stanford Shopping Center
  • Excursions to Downtown Palo Alto
  • Swimming

Evening and weekend activities include a talent show, a dance, a weekend carnival, a campfire night, and a variety of other special evening events organized by the dedicated team of Activities Coordinators.
